Explore Mérida, Yucatán

Chichén-Itzá | One of the New 7 Wonders of the World... Chichén Itzá is one of Mexico’s most important cultural landmarks, famous for its treasure trove of pre-Columbian architecture and artifacts. Dating back nearly 1,500 years, the archaeological city was built with the iconic pyramid of Kukulcán at its center, the greatest symbol of Mayan society and an important astronomical and mathematical achievement.

Stroll Paseo de Montejo | There’s no shortage of pretty things to see in Merida Mexico. Some of the best parts of the city are located along and around the Paseo de Montejo... This walkable, tree-lined street is full of history and some of the most beautiful buildings in Merida.

Merida Cathedral | The San Ildefonso Cathedral was built throughout the 16th Century, from 1561 to 1598. It is one of the oldest cathedrals in the entire Americas Continent, and the biggest church in Merida.

Gran Museo del Mundo Maya (Mayan World Museum) | A world-class museum celebrating Maya culture, the Gran Museo houses a permanent collection of more than 1100 remarkably well-preserved artifacts, including a reclining chac-mool sculpture from Chichén Itzá and a cool underworld figure unearthed at Ek' Balam.

Casa T’hō | Casa T’hō is a small shopping center has a half-dozen shops featuring local textiles, guayaberas, soaps, fragrances, and more. There’s also a café/restaurant serving light dishes and cold drinks. The boutiques are located in the rooms of one of the 19th-century mansions that line Paseo Montejo, now meticulously restored with a lovely courtyard dotted with several towering palms.
